6/13/2019 0 Comments LIFT HEAVY THINGS![]() "Lift heavy things a couple of times a week." This sentence was the first and only sentence that I crafted for a November 2018 blog. I was going to discuss the Primal Program, and how one of the main longevity components is to lift heavy things at least a couple times a week to keep healthy, fit, and functional throughout your long life. Heavy things like weights at a gym, or doing household chores around the house. This blog would have followed the Get Off Your Butt and Move blog, which I find completely hysterical now. Because, as life would have it, the heavy things that I needed to lift this year completely shifted. In my Chinese year of change (I'm a 7.9.3 in a 4-Year for those of you that follow Nine Star Ki), I've had to learn to live heavy things emotionally as well. After my severe and unexpected wrist break and reset in November which happened while walking on a sidewalk in a neighborhood shopping center, I began a year-long healing process. I am half-way through. I can dress myself, use the toilet, write, type on the computer, and I am close to doing my full push-ups again, which I was doing regularly before I fell. My robust and diverse healing program has worked well for me and I'd recommend anyone who is facing a tough physical challenge to adopt the supportive elements in my program that make sense to you. In the meantime, I have risen to the challenges my 4-year presents:
